Why are Houston, TX police testing spy drones?

Houston, TX police didn't know that KPRC television cameras were watching when they convened a group of law enforcement and Homeland Security officials to launch an unmanned drone spy plane. When they did realize the media was present, officials threatened to have the Federal Aviation Administration charge the KPRC helicopter pilot with violation of restricted air space. Unfortunately for the secrecy-seeking tyrant-wannabes, the FAA insisted there were no air space restrictions in the area.

How will local law enforcement use drone technology, which was developed for spying on and killing terrorists? Houston Police Department (HPD) spokesman Martha Montalvo admits that this technology makes covert police activity possible. "I'm not ruling anything out," she notes at a hastily-convened press conference.

According to this report, HPD officials "will tackle privacy and illegal search issues later." But this isn't Afghanistan or Pakistan, it's still the United States of America. We are governed by our Constitution, which guarantees freedom from unreasonable search and seizure in the Fourth Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated..."

Shouldn't privacy and illegal searches be among the first issues we consider?

TSA keeping us safe from CNN reporters

Think the Federal government can't muscle its way into your life any more than it already does? CNN's Anderson Cooper and Drew Griffin explain how the Transportation Security Administration can make your ordinary, law-abiding life miserable:

According to a Northeast Intelligence Network report, Americans who opt out of radiation-emitting body scanners operated by TSA are being placed on a "Non-Islamic Domestic Terrorist" list by the US Department of Homeland Security.

Naming ordinary American travelers "domestic extremists" is insane. Every American should contact their elected officials - Federal, state and even local - to complain about this. Rather than truly focusing on air travel security, the TSA is being used to control and condition American citizens to the idea that Federal permission is required for everything in life. Congress must act immediately to stop repeated TSA violations of our Fourth Amendment rights.

If we accept all this as "normal," the terrorists have indeed won.

How much is Obama spending on his India trip?

There are plenty of speculative reports floating around about how much President Obama is spending on his trip to India. A simple online news search turns up thousands of reports pegging the bill at around $200 million per day.

The White House remains tight-lipped, saying only that most of Obama's staff will accompany him, as will the First Lady and their two children. A recent official blog post claims these reports are "wildy inflated."

Security for a trip to a known terrorist haven is understandably expensive. We'd be the first to agree that no details of Presidential security should be made public, and one of the last to complain about the cost of such arrangements.

The real question is whether or not the President truly needs to be present personally for what appears to be a massive "junket" at best, or, at worst, an Obama family vacation with a few business-related trappings tacked onto an otherwise touristy itinerary.

Whether the actual cost is $200 million a day or only $1 million for the entire trip, American citizens have a right to know how their money is being spent, and why. The White House can, and should, tell us how much this trip costs.

In an economy when nearly one in ten US citizens is unemployed and home foreclosures are displacing thousands, frugality with our tax dollars would seem a prudent trait for the President to adopt. With his continuing profilgate spending, President Obama gives the strong impression that he doesn't really care about any of this.

Good riddance, NPR

Vivian Schiller, president and CEO of National Public Radio, had the audacity to release an internal memo to NPR affiliates that was full of blatant lies about the firing of Juan Williams.

We don't really care that Schiller fired Williams. That's her affair. People are unfairly discharged by employers every day. If Williams was wrongfully dismissed (he isn't claiming that he was), he can sue, and win a substantial amount of money - maybe as much as Fox News is now paying him.

Schiller is either a typical progressive, and unable to tell the difference betweeen fact and fiction, or she is trying to cover for a stupid human resources action - or both.

Here's what she told her colleagues:

Dear AREPS,

Thank you for all of your varying feedback on the Juan Williams situation. Let me offer some further clarification about why we terminated his contract early.

First, a critical distinction has been lost in this debate. NPR News analysts have a distinctive role and set of responsibilities. This is a very different role than that of a commentator or columnist. News analysts may not take personal public positions on controversial issues; doing so undermines their credibility as analysts, and that’s what’s happened in this situation. As you all well know, we offer views of all kinds on your air every day, but those views are expressed by those we interview – not our reporters and analysts.
In fact, NPR "reporters" like Nina Totenberg make personal, partisan remarks all the time. But their comments reflect a liberal point of view, so they're in no danger of losing their job.

Second, this isn't the first time we have had serious concerns about some of Juan's public comments. Despite many conversations and warnings over the years, Juan has continued to violate this principal.
Translation: "Juan Williams isn't as far left as we'd like in his personal views."

Third, these specific comments (and others made in the past), are inconsistent with NPR's ethics code, which applies to all journalists (including contracted analysts):

"In appearing on TV or other media... NPR journalists should not express views they would not air in their role as an NPR journalist. They should not participate in shows... that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis."

More fundamentally, "In appearing on TV or other media including electronic Web-based forums, NPR journalists should not express views they would not air in their role as an NPR journalist."

Unfortunately, Juan's comments on Fox violated our standards as well as our values and offended many in doing so.
The truth is that Juan's appearance on Fox is what violated NPR "standards." We weren't offended by the substance of his comments. Were you? Like Williams, most Americans take special notice when a visibly-Muslim person boards their plane.

We're profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraising week. Juan's comments were made Monday night and we did not feel it would be responsible to delay this action.

This was a tough decision and we appreciate your support.

Thanks,

Vivian Schiller
President & CEO, NPR
So Ms Schiller is really upset that a lot of us will no longer donate to NPR. Now that the intolerant, progressive standards of National Public Radio have been exposed, momentum is building to withdraw all public funding from the organization.

We're sure NPR will go the way of Air America. Good riddance.

Obama's Medicare Czar can't take the heat

Human Events editor Jason Mattera attempts to question Dr. Donald Berwick in the clip below.

Why would Mattera care about Berwick? Because President Barack Obama recently appointed him to an incredibly powerful position as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - ground zero for ObamaCare. Congress had no opportunity to question Berwick's appointment; Obama simply appointed him to a new post as Medicare/Medicaid Czar, with a budget bigger than the Pentagon.

According to a Washington Examiner report, Berwick is a key figure in Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), an international organization that in recent years has been an aggressive and dishonest critic of Israel. The PHR web site offers a press release referring to Berwick as "a board member."

With transparency like this, no wonder Democrats are about to lose both houses of Congress. It will be interesting to see what evidence of further corruption the Obama impeachment hearings produce.

Obama cedes part of Arizona to Mexico

The reconquista has begun. And it's being encouraged and enabled by the Obama Regime's weakness and inaction.

Arizona recently passed a law to protect US citizens from the devastating flood of illegal aliens and illegal alien criminals overwhelming their state. The Obama Regime's reaction? Sue the State of Arizona into submission. We still don't know whether or not President Obama, Attorney General Holder or Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napalitano - all critics of the law - have even read the legislation they detest so strongly.

And now the Federal government has actually closed a large area of land in Arizona to Americans. Why? Because there are too many dangerous, heavily-armed illegal aliens occupying the area. It would be ridiculous if it weren't an early warning sign of the disintegration of the United States of America.

What's your take? Is there anything the US Federal Government can or should do about the border chaos? And what about the State of Arizona? Is there a role for the state to play?

Who ARE you, Congressman Etheridge?

"Who ARE you?"

That's what US Congressman Bob Etheridge (D-NC) demands to know of a young man who politely asks a simple question. Watch Rep. Etheridge as he reacts like a rabid, cornered racoon:

Oh, the Congressman apologized quickly enough - as soon as he realized that this video was spreading rapidly over Twitter and other social media sites. Fox News broadcast a segment on June 14, further embarrassing Etheridge.

People who behave like this have no business serving as our leaders in Congress. There are only 435 Congressional Representatives and 100 Senators. Can anyone seriously make the argument that this man is one of the 535 best people in the entire country to fill the slot? We don't think so.

What in the world makes a public official so arrogant and angry that he would physically assault this well-dressed young man? Did he squirm because he knows his political positions are anti-American? Was it because Etheridge does, in fact, support President Obama's socialist, no-growth, high unemployment, deficit spending, energy taxing agenda? Perhaps he thinks no mortal citizen should ever question a government official? Maybe Etheridge just thought he was having a bad hair day, and was embarrassed to be on camera? No matter. His ridiculous reaction is completely unjustifiable.

Now it's your turn to ask Congressman Etheridge: Who ARE you? So take the time to make a quick phone call or send an email. Of course, be respectful.

But ask Congressman Etheridge, "Who ARE you?"

Red China provides California school curriculum

California school officials are apparently so desperate for funding that they have accepted a Chinese language curriculum developed by The People's Republic of China. That's correct: California students are learning Chinese using a communist-produced curriculum. And it's all paid for by Red China, too.

Doesn't that sound the least little bit like a propaganda opportunity? Here's the story as reported by Fox 11 in Los Angeles:

Sounds innocent enough, until you consider a little history:

  • China supports a ruthless dictatorship in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), one of the worst human rights abusers in the world.
  • During the "Great Leap Forward" in the late 1950s, it is estimated that at least 20 million Chinese starved to death as Mao Zedong's misguided economic policies failed.
  • Infanticide and abortion are official Chinese policy today, often enforced against the will of women involved. Even liberal National Public Radio reports on this.
  • The Chinese government also carries out an aggresive forced sterilization program. The US House of Representatives held hearings on this atrocity in 1998.
  • No one knows exactly how much of the United States' national debt is owed to communist China. The public debt owned China exceeds $5 trillion, but much of our debt is held privately, and no estimates are available.

Should school districts even be allowed to accept a "free" gift of a language curriculum like this? Especially knowing that it is produced by an evil empire led by dictators who would love to see the demise of the United States?

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer owns Obama Regime

It's just too easy.

President Barack Obama's position on immigration is blatantly obvious: He stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Arizona-bashing Mexico president Filipe Calderon. And now Obama's Homeland Security minions are openly deciding not to enforce Federal immigration law, just to further snub the citizens of Arizona.

The Obama Regime's immigration efforts are decidedly anti-American. Apparently the Immigrant in Chief has forgotten about taking his oath of office - twice - where he swore to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Desperate to protect citizens from drug gangs and other criminal elements among the growing illegal immigrant population, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is fighting back. Here's her latest political commercial, designed to ridicule the Obama Regime's laughable immigration stance:

What do you think? In the political world, perception is reality. Is Gov. Brewer's message effective?

Gingrich: Secular socialist machine a great threat to America

We disagree with former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich on many political issues. He isn't perfect, but he is a brilliant historian.

He appeared on Fox News Sunday May 16, and explained clearly that the Obama Regime is a serious danger to the American way of life. Host Chris Wallace quoted from Gingrich's new book, To Save America, "The secular socialist machine represents as great a threat to America as NAZI Germany or the Soviet Union once did." Gingrich defines and defends his statement in this clip:

What's your opinion? Can Americans stop socialism before the Constitution and our way of life are destroyed beyond repair?

2010 Census cost continues to spiral

According to an Associated Press report, a computer system that the Census Bureau is using to manage its door-to-door count of the US population is full of software bugs, and is prone to crash.

The Paper Based Operations Control System (PBOCS) has not functioned reliably in tests Despite hardware and software upgrades, it "may not be able to perform as needed under full operational loads," the US Government Accountability Office said. "So far, it is not as stable as it needs to be," GAO Strategic Issues Director Robert Goldenkoff said before the start of a recent Congressional hearing on the Census.

The paper-based system's hasty design began in early 2008, after the Census Bureau scrapped plans to use handheld-computers that didn't work. That blunder alone cost taxpayers more than $700 million. Returning to a paper-based method has increased the cost of the 2010 Census by about $3 billion.

PBOCS will generate assignments for the roughly 635,000 enumerators hired to visit about 48 million homes to count people who did not return their forms by mail. Instead of getting instructions from the cell phone-like handheld machines as planned, enumerators will receive assignments on paper.

More than 63 percent of US households returned their census forms by mail, well within the Bureau's target range. According to the GAO, the Bureau has hired enough enumerators to complete the at-home visits. Census enumerators began their field work on May 1, 2010.

What's your opinion? Now that the Obama Regime has forcibly taken over the US healthcare system, will it be managed better than the 2010 Census? Is there anything the Federal government runs efficiently?

'They are coming after you...'

So Bertha Lewis, former CEO of ACORN, says she is a socialist. Yawwwn.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that Lewis is a socialist. Many people active in public life today, including the President and most of his cabinet and close advisors, are socialists, statists, Marxists or communists. Some are even domestic terrorists. They aren't even trying to hide it any more.

Lewis is clearly supportive of socialism, a political philosophy diametrically opposed to American mores. But she goes far beyond that here, accusing Tea Party activists of some diabolical ideas:

It is disappointing is that Lewis feels compelled, apparently, to forecast some ominous events and attributes them to emergence of the Tea Party movement. (And yes, she refers to it as a "bowel movement" in the clip above - extra-classy socialism.)

Lewis predicts that the coming era of conservative political dominance will dwarf:

That's a lot of dwarfing.

What Lewis means, of course, by using these bizarre illustrations, is that she's certain socialists like her and her audience will soon be out of political power in the United States, relegated to small group meetings in people's basements, homosexual bars and medical marijuana dispensaries (while they still exist).

The truth is that Senator Joseph McCarthy was right: There actually were communist spies infiltrating the United States government in the 1950s. A lot of them. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted and executed for spying because they were spies.

Ironically, it was Democrat icon Franklin D. Roosevelt who issued orders to imprison people - even American citizens - of Japanese, German and Italian ancestry during the Second World War. No one other than Lewis and a few other leftists are suggesting that today's subversive, anti-American socialists be rounded up and put in camps. We just want them out of elected office. Soon.

Jim Crow laws and segregation? Only liberals persist in such forms of racism. The Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, United Negro College Fund and many other organizations continue to operate today with a separate-but-equal philosophy. Of course, there are still indviduals in our society who hold racist attitudes. But we have come a very long way since Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. exhorted us to look past skin color to examine a person's character.

But liberals will never buy the idea of a color-blind society. Tea Party patriots, on the other hand, don't care about the ethnicity of elected officials. They care about real issues, like the national debt and excessive taxation. Those issues don't have a skin color.

"They are coming after you," Lewis claims. That is true, but only in the political sense. American patriots are weary of our freedoms being eroded and destroyed by pro-big-government statists like Lewis. Tea Party activists are ordinary Americans - 40 percent of whom now self-identify as Democrats or independents - who have decided our way of life is worth defending.

Last, but certainly not least, citizens are beginning to realize that socialists are, by definition, disloyal to the U.S. Constitution. They actively seek a political and social order foreign to the American experience. Some, like Obama advisor Bill Ayers, commit acts of violence like bombing police stations and the Pentagon to carry out their agenda. The Tea Party movement isn't borne along by racismor violence, but a realization that our Federal government is dominated by people who are determine to destroy our American way of life.

What's your take? Why should we listen to socialists like Bertha Lewis? Do they have anything to offer a society that lives by the rule of law, whose founding documents are so clearly at odds with socialism.

How to deal with infil-traitors

We call them "infil-traitors."

The usual suspects - anarchist ne'er-do-wells and unemployed leftist goons are determined to make tea party attendees look like racists, haters and dangerous subversives. In other words, they want to make conservatives look just like them.

Oregon teacher Jason Levin, who may have created his "Crash the Tea Party" web site on school time and with public resources, is being investigated and has been placed on leave. His site has been reduced to a legal defense fund appeal.

This great video clip from a recent St. Louis, MO tea party rally shows patriots exactly how to confront infil-traitors:

Whether this man is actually a white supremacist, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, or just a not-very-bright "progressive," his alleged racism is not something that represents the views of conservative American patriots. Kudos to the person who persistently - and peacefully - outed him.

Far-left liberals deserve ridicule

According to @wizbangblog:

In 1971 Saul D. Alinsky, founder of the Industrial Areas Foundation, published Rules for Radicals. Alinsky wrote the book because, as a man who had spent nearly his entire life organizing, he was dismayed at rag-tag efforts of campus radicals and hippies who claimed to be activists and organizers but who had succeeded only in calling a great deal of attention to themselves, and little else. Alinsky believed that the youth protest movement of the late 1960's - early 1970's had great promise, but he also realized that it was ideologically tattered and hopelessly obsessed with shock and sensationalism instead of results. His book was designed to teach those radicals how to organize. source
Alinsky's Chapter 7, "Tactics," lists 13 "Power Tactics." Number five says:

Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition.
And that's exactly what buffoons like Rep Alan Grayson (D-FL) deserve: ridicule. Watch as the uninvited Grayson invades and interrupts a local Tea Party gathering, insults citizens there and acts like an all-around fool:

Men like Grayson are nowhere near qualified to serve in the United States Congress. Just look at the many, many clips of him on YouTube. It's astonishing how many foolish, inane things come out of the man's overactive mouth.

It isn't difficult to do, but we have to constantly point out that liberals like Grayson are ridiculous - until they are not electable, even in liberal districts. Are you willing to employ Alinsky tactics against the far left America-haters?

'Of course I support the Constitution... I just don't know what it says.'

The U.S. Constitution specifies an oath of office only for the President:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
For other Federal government officials, including members of Congress, the document says only that they "shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support the Constitution." Members of Congress today take this oath:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Congressman Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ) was confronted recently at a town hall meeting by a citizen patriot who freely quotes - from memory - chapter and verse of our founding document:

Whether or not members of Congress should memorize the entire Constitution may be debatable. But Congressman LoBiondo clearly didn't know even the subject matter addressed in the First Amendment.

Note to candidates, especially those of you who claim to be Constitutional conservatives: You'd better be somewhat familiar with the document you're swearing to support and defend. It isn't enough to just talk about this. You'd be wise to actually know what it says, and why. Prove you are worthy of our vote.

What do you think? Does ignorance of our Constitution make a person ineligible to serve in elected office?

You better hope it works for you, too...

Couldn't afford a new iPad? You're not alone. But because they care deeply about social justice, the Obama regime has just introduced the oPad:

We're not sure how much it costs, or how many years you'll be paying on it. It doesn't start working until years from now, and you have to buy it to learn anything about it. Does this all sound familiar?

Let the debate begin... finally

President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress love to talk about how wonderful ObamaCare is. This, despite the fact that most of them have absolutely no idea what is actually in the 2,600+ page bill they rammed through with procedural chicanery.

Since they didn't really know what was in the bill, Democrats severely restricted Congressional debate on the pending legislation. Revealing a staggering lack of allegiance to the Constitution, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) actually said, "But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it..."

According to Rasmussen Reports, 54 percent of Americans now favor repealing ObamaCare, and the number is growing. Every day we learn of another outlandish provision in the legislation that "nobody really knew was in there."

Enter Ilya Shapiro and the Cato Institute. Shapiro has issued a bold challenge. He'll debate anyone, anywhere about the Constitutionality of ObamaCare:

Better late than never, we say. Patriots who respect our founding documents and the rule of law must continue to point out that ObamaCare is, in fact, unConstitutional.

Let's hold the media accountable

Conservatives and patriots from across the United States gathered in the nation's capitol on March 10, 2010 to express their displeasure with President Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress.

Why? According to liberals, it's solely because conservatives are racists. But the truth is that many Americans are deeply concerned about our skyrocketing national debt and angry with Democrats using procedural trickery to make an unConstitutional takeover of the entire healthcare industry the law of the land.

Undetered by reality, the sycophant liberal media continues to repeat the lies about incidents of racism that allegedly took place at this protest. Despite hundreds - perhaps thousands - of video recording devices running throughout the event and a $10,000 reward offered for a clip that includes a single racial epithet, not a single one has turned up.

Watch this, and share with your friends. Let's not let the liberal media continue their lies in support of socialism and statism.

How will you hold the media accountable?

Will you stand with the Constitution and America?

Nate asks a powerful question at the end of this brief clip from the Tea Party Movie: "Will you stand with the Constitution and America? Or will you stand with tyranny?"

Although Nate directs his question specifically at African-Americans, the same question is being asked of every citizen today.

Our Founders wrote a Constitution that carefully restricted the new Federal government, limiting it to very specific powers and responsibilities. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution is referred to as the "Enumerated Powers" clause because it lists exactly what Congress is permitted to do. The 10th Amendment, ratified December 15, 1791, further clarifies that the Federal government has no authority beyond the enumerated powers.

But more than any previous political leaders, President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress are flagrantly ignoring our Constitution. Like all pro-big-government politicians, their agenda is to circumvent, undermine and destroy the relevance of this important document. It stands in the way of their desire to see our lives controlled completely by an all-knowing, all-powerful Federal government. This has been going on for generations, and the American people are finally waking up. They are angry about the betrayal of these power-hungry tyrants.

Men like James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and John Adams would very likely stand with Nate today, asking you which side you will choose: Are you with the Constitution and America? Or do you stand with tyranny?

Healthcare resistance begins

Dr. Jack Cassell, MD, a Florida urologist, has decided to make known his views on socialized medicine. And like most medical doctors, he doesn't like it one bit:

The sign on his door tells patients, "If you voted for Obama, seek urologic care elsewhere." And just to drive home the point that President Obama is at war with the medical profession, Dr. Cassell adds, "Changes to your healthcare begin now, not in four years."

Unless the unConstitutional healthcare package is repealed in its entirety, our healthcare system will be destroyed. We congratulate Dr. Cassell. His blunt method of educating Obama's lemming supporters is both powerful and relevant.

How do you plan to resist these new, unConstitutional Federal regulations?

'I don't worry about the Constitution...'

Representative Phil Hare just blurts it out, as if it's no big deal: "I don't worry about the Constitution."

Hare, who is a Democrat, claims to represent the people of Illinois. But he admits in this clip that he doesn't really know, understand or care about the U.S. Constitution. He even quotes from the Declaration of Independence, and then incorrectly attributes it to the Constitution.

Constitution and the rule of law be damned! We have to keep all these uninsured people from dying n the streets, no matter what our founding documents say!

Ignorant, unprincipled lawmakers like Hare - who disavow their sworn oath to uphold the Constitution - are why our nation is heading quickly toward socialism. If we are to save our Republic, Americans must replace simpletons like Hare in November 2010 with legislators who will swear to govern by the Constitution - and mean it.

Was Debra Medina set up?

Texas gubanatorial candidate Debra Medina appeared as a guest on the Glenn Beck Radio Program on February 11, 2010.

Although she's been involved in Texas politics for a decade, and has served as county GOP chair, Medina is hardly a career politician. She is currently running in a three-way primary race against current Republican governor Rick Perry and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX). Medina is unabashedly pro-life and conservative. And starting from nowhere, she is now in a statistical tie with Hutchison, close behind incumbent Perry.

But you wouldn't know any of that if you were introduced to her on Beck's radio show today. Instead, you might havebeen led to believe that she is a 9/11 "truther." Just to be clear,"truthers" believe that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks were somehow orchestrated by President George W. Bush and/or someone working for him, using the U.S. government to artificially instigate global war.

This was Beck's first and only question. And after playing with Medina for a few moments, Beck dismissed her rather abruptly. Listen to this clip from the program, and judge for yourself whether or not this sounds odd:

There are several points that make us question what is going on here:

  1. Medina says she experienced audio problems, and could not hear Beck very well. That seems obvious in the clip, as she continues to speak several times, clearly not hearing him.

  2. Her response to Beck's vaguely-worded first attempt may best be described as confusion, as in "Why in the world are you asking me THAT?"

  3. When Beck re-phrases and poses the question directly, Medina could have helped herself with a simple, one-word answer: "No!" But she didn't, so Beck extrapolated that to a "yes" for her without giving Medina any chance to refute. Beck then moved immediately to ridicule.

  4. Medina sounds very surprised and confused as Beck pushes this issue. Her rational explanation that she is in a state race, and not focused on national issues, seems lost on Beck, who is already laughing. She's obviously trying ask politely, "What are we even discussing this?"

  5. Medina claims she was invited onto the show, told by producers that Beck wanted to get acquainted with her. No one told her they would ask about the "truther" issue. And since she says she is not in any way a supporter of that conspiracy theory, she was rightly surprised that Beck would start there.
  6. Finally, and perhaps most disturbing, we have heard from a number of friends we trust who report that they received robocalls from the Perry campaign within an hour of this interview. And the call included audio bytes of Beck ridiculing Medina. That seems extraordinarily suspicious.
We have long appreciated Glenn Beck's tremendous talent. His uncanny ability to research and explain what anti-American progressives are really up to is second to none, and he has the ratings to prove it. But this situation just seems... strange.

It isn't like Beck to set up a guest. Nor would it be consistent with the Beck we know to think that he conciously decided to help Gov. Perry's re-election bid. Given the context, that could be considered corrupt, by some. We're not cynical enough to believe that. But Beck may want to consider explaining himself to his faithful listeners and viewers.

You can learn more about Debra Medina here. Her statement about the Beck interview is here. The Glenn Beck Program posted a transcript of the conversation here.

What do you think? Is Medina a true conservative, or a 9/11 "truther"? Is she someone you could support? What should she do to clarify all this for Texas voters? And what about Beck's role in this?

Are the Green Police coming for you?

Here's a disturbing commercial, produced for the Super Bowl by automobile manufacturer Audi:

This would have been funny, had it been a commercial for a coal mine or maybe a natural gas-fired furnace. But it seems to say, "We're pro-environment, AND pro-tyranny. Better be green like us, or we'll harrass and even arrest you. And we're not kidding."

The "green police" may be closer to reality than you think. Already there are municipalities, including Washington, DC, where use of plastic grocery bags incurs a surtax. San Francisco now mandates composting; you will pay a fine if you don't do it. Have your car tires inflated properly, or pay a fine (in California, of course). Mandatory recycling programs. The list of environment-motivated restrictions on our freedom is long, and growing.

Real Americans are not pro-dirty water. We don't like pollution. Real conservatives would rather recycle than throw things away needlessly. We love a clean environment, too. But those of us who still value liberty and freedom are wary because radical environmentalists appear to embrace the "green police" concept.

Question: How much should the government intrude into our personal life to police products we purchase and use?

Sarah Palin's Tea Party Convention Q&A

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was the keynote speaker for a Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee on February 6, 2010 (Ronald Reagan's 99th birthday). Following her remarks , she took time to respond to questions assembled by Tea Party Nation.

Note that she speaks here without a teleprompter.

Obama: The militarily illiterate President

This is one of those things you just cannot believe, except it's right there on video. So you have to accept reality: The President of the United States is an idiot.

The teleprompter apparently displayed the word speled correctly: c-o-r-p-s-m-a-n. But he pronounced it "corpse-man." Twice. Conclusion? Barack Hussein Obama is militarily illiterate.

What do you think? Is Obama qualified to be our Commander in Chief?

One more reason to home-school your children?

Updated - June 17, 2010

It happens with alarming frequency in the United States. Adults - who should know better - panic and accuse a student of violating a "zero tolerance" policy that bans weapons from a school. Except that the "weapon" is a toy.

And in this case, it's not even a toy gun. It's a LEGO. The item in question measures less than two inches in length. No reasonable person could ever confuse this with a real weapon, or even a kid's toy gun.

Despite these obvious facts, this Staten Island, NY school principal not only confiscated the poor kid's LEGOs, she actually reported this incident to the U.S. Department of Education. And of course, the Federal bureauracracy wasted your tax dollars investigating and responding to this "incident."

Now, no one wants to allow real weapons in any school. We all agree that would be dangerous and undesirable. Some would say unforgivable. But that is not what we're talking about here.

So let's recap: A fourth grader brings Legos to school and plays with them at lunch, with his frends. The school principal, apparently having nothing more important to do, seizes the LEGOs. She then files an official report with the Federal government.

While we fully support schools' attempts to remain weapons-free zones, we cannot condone the complete rejection of common sense that seems to accompany this movement. Public school officials who demonstrate this rather amazing lack of judgment may be better off pursuing a different, less stressful, career.

And here is the latest example of this lunacy: Yet another school humiliates a student, claiming that toy soldiers are weapons. This young man wanted to honor members of our military as patriots, but the school says, "inappropriate." These school officials are buffoons, and deserve to be ridiculed as such.

What does Obama's Federal budget freeze look like?

In his first year, President Barack Hussein Obama has spent more money than all previous chief executives combined. (Much of it borrowed from China.) His dissembling continues as he makes speech after speech (including his State of the Union address), pretending now to be a fiscal hawk.

Obama is touting his bold plan to "cut" $20 billion from the 2011 Federal budget (which includes more than $1.5 trillion in deficit spending). True, $20 billion is a lot of money. But when you realize that the entire Federal budget is $3.8 trillion, it doesn't sound like so much.

Do the math:
Q. $20,000,000,000 is what percentage of $3,800,000,000,000?

A. 0.526%
In other words, Obama is proposing to "cut" less than one-half of one percent of Federal spending. To put this in perspective, it's as if an American family with the median household income of $45,000 decided to not spend a whopping $225 - next year.

Now that's tough fiscal leadership, isn't it?

Here's a great video illustrating the absurdity of Obama's smoke-and-mirrors budget freeze:

What do you think? How can we ever get Federal spending under control again?

The Myth of Right-Wing Hate

We think you'll enjoy this clever and very listenable tune from Kathleen Stewart:

Best comment on the original YouTube post?

Conservative: "I believe in liberty and the rule of law."

Hardcore Leftist: "Die, you f ^#&ing racist teabagger."

Have a cheery day! And remember, hate is for liberals.

Obama: 'Healthcare meetings WERE on C-SPAN'

With these comments, President Barack Hussein Obama earns a new title: Justifier in Chief.

Speaking to a room full of Republican lawmakers, Obama claimed most Congressional discussions about socialized medicine were broadcast on C-SPAN. Anyone paying the least attention to the process knows this is a lie.

True, some of the votes were televised. But all of the serious negotiations - the discussions that really mattered - were held in secret, behind locked doors. Only Democrats took part. There were no Republicans in the room, and no television cameras. There is not a single Republican amendment included in either the House or the Seante versions of this legislation.

Obama begins by scolding GOP Representatives and Senators:

"The truth of the matter is that, if you look at the health care process, just over the course of the year, overwhelmingly the majority of it actually was on C-SPAN because it was taking place in Congressional hearings in which you guys were participating. How many committees were that that helped to shape this bill? Countless hearings took place."
The Justifier in Chief continues:

What do you think of Obama and his promised transparency? Has he lived up to his promises?

Pro-death abortionists HATE free speech - and babies

Tim Tebow is now a Heisman Tropy-winning football player, who is certain to have a great career in the National Football League. As a star athlete, he will have the great privilege of a very public platform. As an American, he still has a right to freedom of expression guaranteed by the First Amendment to the US Constitution.

Tebow has decided to appear in a commercial advocating the pro-life position. It is scheduled to air during the 2010 Super Bowl. And surprise, surprise: the leftist pro-death forces are angry that CBS would consider airing a commercial that praises traditional family values.

Every time abortion advocates open their mouths, it seems they must include an obligatory swipe at the free speech rights of people who believe in life for unborn human babies. Watch this sharply pro-abortion-biased report from ABC News:

Anchorette Dianne Sawyer's voice is dripping with contempt as she predictably avoids the term "pro-life," and substitutes "anti-abortion." And the money quote? "This ad is hate, masquerading as love." Strong words from the unnamed baby-killing advocate, considering she hasn't actually seen the ad. She demands equal time. (And remember, this is a commercial, not a documentary.) Sounds like the baby killers are angry they didn't think to raise $2.5 million to air their own putrid views.

Want to tell CBS they're doing the right thing? Click here to sign an online petition in favor of airing the ad and asking the network to not cave to pressure from the forces of death.

Is Obama smarter than a sixth grader?

President Barack Hussein Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan visited with sixth grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, VA, on January 19, 2010.

Obama's famous obsession with his teleprompter continued as he made remarks in the classroom. Why would Obama fear speaking off-the-cuff in a setting like this? He may have been concerned that wandering from the carefully prepared script might lead people to conclude that he is not smarter than a sixth grader.

On January 19, expect a miracle

Here's a video all Patriots will appreciate and share with their friends:

You can find out more at MassachusettsMiracle.com. Unless you're with the Coakley campaign, and can't spell the state name correctly.

'Let me be clear...'

We've listened to Barack Hussein Obama give countless speeches. The only way this man could say less would be to talk more. Which may not be humanly possible.

Whenever we tweet a sarcastic, pretend Obama quote, we begin with "Let me be clear:" It's all in good fun, but we've always thought that was his trademark phrase.

CNN seems to have noticed this, too:

What's your favorite Obama refrain?

J-School state of mind

Webster's defines journalism as "the collection and editing of news for presentation through the media."

We recently ran across this clip, showing a group project performed in Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. (We use the word "journalism" very loosely, as does the University. There isn't much stated or implied here about telling people what happens. It's all about the advocacy, baby.)

Turn up the volume, and enjoy:

What do you think about the future of the US media? With "journalism" students embracing advocacy, rather than actual "journalism," will the public ever be able to get the real stoy about anything?

Pat Robertson knows Haiti history

Pat Robertson was right about Haiti.

And liberals are angry that anyone would dare to suggest that God exists, that Satan exists, or that human suffering might be caused by S-I-N. Robertson is under fire for having said this about the spiritual history of Haiti:

And it should be noted that Robertson spoke while in the midst of raising money for relief work in Haiti. He and CBN ministries have invested a good deal of esources in Haiti over the years, so he is not as lacking in credibility here as liberals might lead one to believe.

Search the net and you'll find lots of references to what Robertson describes. According to Operation World:
Evangelical Christians have increasingly and openly stood against voodooism and the Satanic dedication of the country in 1791 by the slaves plotting revolt against the French. Satan was seen to be opposed to the Christian religion of their oppressors.
Raymond Joseph, Haitian ambassador to the US, responded on MSNBC with these interesting remarks:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

So the Haitian slave revolt benefitted the United States, not Haiti. Note that Joseph does not deny that his ancestors entered into some kind of agreement with Satan. He speaks English well enough that we would have expected a plain denial, if Robertson were incorrect.

Haiti is the least prosperous country in the Western Hemisphere, materially and otherwise. Haitians have been plagued by hurricanes and other natural disasters for centuries. Their government is run by people so corrupt they make Dan Rostenkowski and Duke Cunningham blush. Infrastructure in Haiti was so sub-standard that the January 2010 earthquake destroyed just about all of it.

Although the Roman Catholic Church has been present for generations, voodoo (literally, "spirit") is the dominant religion in Haiti today. National Geographic documents this well:

In April 2003 an executive decree by then president Jean-Bertrand Aristide sanctioned voodoo as an officially recognized religion.
Voodoo priests - witch doctors - call daily on demonic powers to cast spells and wield influence in Haiti. Every Christian worker who has served there for a time will tell you that Haitians believe evil spirits have dominion over their people and territory.

Should we help? Of course! These people are suffering in the midst of the worst humanitarian crisis in our lifetime. While we won't presume to offer an exhaustive list here, there are many reputable US charities through which you can help Haitians with both physical and spiritual assistance, including Samaritan's Purse.

America is fast becoming a bastion of spiritual desolation and ignorance. Don't allow religious illiterates to say there is no such thing as spiritual oppression. The God of the Bible loves Haitians just as he loves all people. Only Satan could be such a cruel master.

How have you helped Haiti?

Is Harry Reid a racist, or a bigot?

'Diversity visas': Another way to destroy America

Have the Team Obama leftists running the US State Department surrendered to our enemies? Apparently so.

Fox News reports here that thousands of immigrants are being granted "diversity visas" by the Obama State Department. According to the story:
Included in the lottery are all four countries the U.S. considers state sponsors of terror -- Iran, Sudan, Cuba, and Syria -- and 13 of the 14 nations that are coming under special monitoring from the Transportation Security Administration as founts of terrorism.
It's a legal loophole big enough to drive a truck full of explosives through. And serious leaders are pointing to this as a real threat to our national security.

Which politicians champion this lunacy? You guessed it! Liberal morons like Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), who is actually working to double the number of visas offered through this insane program.

And here are the lottery "winners" for 2010. Christmas Day underpants bomber-wannabe Umar Farouk Abdulmattallab's home country of Nigeria leads the list, with 6,006 visas approved. Our good friends in Yemen, where a number of Gitmo alumni now reside, received 72. Others include:

Iran: 2,773 -- Algeria: 1,957
Sudan: 1,084 -- Afghanistan: 345
Cuba: 298 -- Somalia: 229
Lebanon: 181 -- Libya: 152
Iraq: 142 -- Saudi Arabia: 104
Syria: 98

Shouldn't EVERY visa application simply be weighed on the merits of the individual applicant?

Kudos to CNN's Jack Cafferty!

We are second to none in our criticism of US media. More often than not, they are intellectually lazy and simply fail to ask hard questions of those in elected office. With some notable exceptions, they were willing accomplices and even open advocates during the 2008 election, helping to get their far-left candidate into the White House.

But we are also honest enough to speak up when someone in the media does the right thing. CNN's Jack Cafferty is calling out TeamObama and the leftist Democrat leadership in Congress regarding broken promises about transparency in government. He's exactly right: They describe healthcare talks as "informal," and that is politispeak for "secret." Watch this scathing rebuke:

Breitbart TV posted an excellent video compilation here, showing candidate Barack Hussein Obama promising eight times to televise healthcare discussions on C-SPAN. Cafferty's criticism seems right on the money.

UPDATE: CBS also mentions Obama's brazen dishonesty here.

Should our legislators work behind closed doors? Or is transparency important to the process?

Think what we think. Or else.

This is exactly how totalitarian leftists work. It's also how things operate under Sharia law, which is what Islamist jihad intends to impose upon the entire world.

The University of Delaware residence life program was caught indoctrinating students with radical, leftist social ideas. Under the bland banner of "citizenship," program directors deployed their nefarious agenda. They employed coercive techniques in the mandatory indoctrination program. The bottom line for students: Conform your thoughts, or face the consequences.

A big clue? Students were consistently required to return all handouts and program materials. Watch this clip and be amazed at this brazen attempt by radicals to destroy everything Americans have held dear for 233 years:

A more recent example? "The science is settled. The debate about 'climate change' is over. Conform your thoughts." Of course, thanks to a yet-unidentified hacker, we now know that we were all being urged to conform to a colossal lie.

What do you think? Do contemporary Americans even understand free speech? Or is it more important that we conform to a single, monolithic - and radical - ideology?
