Is INTERPOL Obama's GESTAPO?

This post was updated on January 1, 2010.

President Obama quietly signed Executive Order 12425 on December 17, which effectively allows INTERPOL to operate without Constitutional restrictions. We say "quietly," because the US media have all but ignored this story.

Are they complicit in Obama's nefarious attempt to exercise secret police powers over US citizens without Constitutional restrictions? Or are they still so smitten with their socialist messiah that they thmselves don't perceive the danger this poses to liberty?

@LizBlaine writes about it here on the David Horowitz Newsreal Blog. National Review writer Andy McCarthy's piece is here. Bob Owens covered it at Pajamas Media. The Washington Examiner weighs in here and again here. Canada Free Press wonders why Americans aren't outraged about this issue here. And in this follow-up, Canada Press explains the significance of the story. The New York Times says there's nothing to see here - move along. The Times quotes Christina Reynolds, a White House spokeswoman: "There is nothing newsworthy here." ABC News' Jake Tapper has a good piece posted here, but it doesn't strike us as particularly in-depth.

Please note: We are NOT comparing Obama to Hitler. We ARE raising serious questions about what would motivate our President to allow any internatonal agency to interact with American citizens in such a way that our Constitutional rights are swept away, and the agency itself is no longer subject to US laws.

Have you heard a single serious explanation about this on network newscasts? No! So tweet the media! Ask them why they aren't covering this important story in depth. We promise, you WILL have an impact on this issue.

Merry Christmas!

Luke 2:1-16, New Living Translation

The Birth of Jesus

At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, his fiancĂ©e, who was now obviously pregnant.

And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

The Shepherds and Angels

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

May the Lord be pleased with you and your loved ones, and bless you with peace this Christmas!

Tribute to a historic year

President Barack Hussein Obama likes to use the words "historic" and "unprecedented." 2009 was both, politically speaking.

The US economy has stumbled to lows not seen in decades. Terrorists bent on our destruction have infiltrated the homeland and our military, seemingly without penalty. Moa and a transvestite are on the White House "holiday" tree, along with an ornament featuring Mount Rushmore, with the addition of Obama's face. Members of the elite political class Obama leads have brazenly prostituted themselves in the name of healthcare, leading to tyranny and a depth of corruption perhaps never before seen in American public service. Patriots rallied multiple times throughout the USA to speak their minds, but big government just couldn't be bothered to listen.

2010 will be different. We promise.

Let's encourage the media to do their job!

The media have been a willing accomplice in the election and rule of President Barack Hussein Obama and the liberal Democrats controlling Congress. They were so in love with Obama that they failed to do the most basic homework. They did not ask any hard questions, and the United States is now suffering under the inept "leadership" of an inexperienced, callow youth, surrounded by his team of communists and leftist radicals.

Now we learn that the Senate version of the so-called health reform bill actually includes language that would prevent any future Congress from even considering amending or overturning this legislation. Should the bill become law, this provision will almost certainly be ruled un-Constitutional. The American Thinker has a great piece explaining this in more detail. Or you can watch Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) explaining to his bent-on-tyranny Democrat colleagues why this is "a really big deal."

This is tyranny, plain and simple. But are you hearing anything about it in the media? No! So let's politely, but repeatedly, challenge these people to do their job. Ask them why they aren't writing and speaking about this shameless imposition of a royal decree.

Feel free to copy and paste the tweets below. (The link goes to The American Thinker post.) Let your voice be heard by those who control what others know about Congress. Our elected representatives have profited from operating in the dark for far too long. You will make a difference by shining a light on their despicable behavior!

Sheldon Whitehouse: Fool or traitor?

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) says you and I want "to break the momentum of our new, young President." He's absolutely correct about that. Because when we see an un-American, leftist-socialist undoing 233 years of freedom from tyranny, we want to break his momentum. We want his disregard for our Constituton to stop. Immediately.

But then Whitehouse has the gall to slander ordinary Americans who oppose tyranny. He calls you "birthers" and "fanatics." He accuses you of "running around in right-wing militias. He implies that you are a racist, saying that you belong to "Aryan support groups."

But Whitehouse's conclusion is false. Very few people are angry that Barack Hussein Obama exists. What we do care about is that he is destroying liberties guaranteed to us in the United States Constitution. We care that he and the Democrats in Congress are imposing tyranny.

Is there even one Democrat in the House or Senate who actually understands our founding principles? Is there a single one who will side with liberty and freedom? Is there one who can quote from the Declaration of Independence? Or are they all selfish, greedy buffoons who want to portray ordinary Americans as wild-eyed lunatics?

Las Vegas teacher disciplined for denying Holocaust

A teacher at the progressive Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada, is on suspension through Christmas for telling students that the Holocaust never happened. Lori Sublette allegedly said historic photographs were doctored, text books are inaccurate, and that Nazis lacked the technology to kill so many people.

Sublette is a full-time gym teacher with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Washington and a master's degree from Arizona's Grand Canyon University, according to the school's web site.

The video report below is from KTNV:

This "teacher" has been disciplined. What do you think? Can she return to a classroom? Or should she be banned from teaching forever, based on her incredible ignorance and/or anti-Semitism?

This may be the most amazing display of ignorance we have ever seen:

Global warming awareness rally draws hundreds

Serious questions have been raised about the "science" upon which man-caused climate change is based. But AlGore and members of his church of Anti-Capitalism continue to lecture the world about how we'll all drown because we used the wrong light bulbs.

A rally was held recently to raise awareness of global warming. Hundreds took part. Reports indicate the mood of participants was chilly, as can be seen in the photo.

Meanwhile, delegates at the huge climate change festival in Copenhagen, Denmark, struggled in the midst of a huge blizzard on December 17.

The irony of it all.

Obama's home teleprompter malfunctions

The Onion is a consistently funny source of humor. Their posts cover a wide variety of topics, including politics. Enjoy this "news" report about President Obama's home teleprompter:

Obama's Home Teleprompter Malfunctions During Family Dinner

On a more serious note, do you think the media has been too tough on President Obama regarding his reliance on a teleprompter?

Would you vote for this man?

Okay, the headline sounds snarky. But watch this short video of Allen West, candidate for Congress in Florida's 22nd District.

We found it especially noteworthy that West can give an impassioned speech about important issues without the assistance of a teleprompter. That's a refreshing change from another African-American who seems obsessed with public speaking.

We're not endorsing anyone - just sharing information. If you care to investgate, you can find out more about Lt. Col. West on his web site. And you can follow @AllenWest2010 on Twitter.

What do you say? Would you vote for this man?

Why is Sarah Palin's popularity soaring?

Ever since Sarah Palin burst onto the national stage as the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2007, the liberal US media have attacked her relentlessly: She's a hick. She's backward. She talks funny. She lied about circumstances surrounding the birth of her youngest son. She shoots animals. She was unethical as governor of Alaska. She didn't have enough experience to be vice president. She spent too much on her wardrobe.

But the incessant whining by liberal elites has done nothing to undermine Palin's popularity. Her recent book tour, promoting Going Rogue, has been a huge success by any measure - including the number of books sold.

Palin's appearance on NBC's The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien is a marvelous example of why her star will continue to rise. Enjoy this clip:

What's your opinion of Governor Palin? Will she be a viable candidate for President, as many are suggesting?

What does the word 'consensus' mean?

The recent theft of email from East Anglia climate research "scientists" was a crime. The perpetrators should be caught and appropriately punished for wrong-doing.

The content of those messages, however, has cast serious doubt about the integrity of their research and their theories about global warming. Yes, we said it: Everything they have put forward to date is still just a theory.

Al Gore, Supreme Leader of the Church of Climate Change, and his unquestioning disciples continue to drone on about "consensus" in the scientific community regarding their theories of human-caused temperature change. Gore and his sycophants say there is "consensus" around the idea that human beings are making the earth warmer, and that we can do something to stop that from happening.

We decided to look up the dictionary definition of "consensus," and discovered this is just one more English word some liberals would like to re-shape to fit their own view. Not so fast. Here's what Webster's says:

1 a : general agreement : unanimity b : the judgment arrived at by most of those concerned
2 : group solidarity in sentiment and belief

Argue all you want to about the theory. But call it a theory until it's been proven. And don't try to re-write the dictionary by using a word that means unanimity to describe your beliefs and ours.

Do you think such a "consensus" exists? Perhaps more importantly, what do you think about people trying to twist the meaning of plain English words?

If you thought you hated the IRS already, read this.

Rachel Porcaro knows she's hardly rich. When you're a single mom making 10 bucks an hour, you don't need government experts to tell you how broke you are.

But that's what happened. The government not only told Porcaro she was poor. They said she was too poor to make it in Seattle.

It all started a year ago, when Porcaro, a 32-year-old mom with two boys, was summoned to the Seattle office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She had been flagged for an audit.

Click here to read the rest of this shocking story, written by Danny Westneat of The Seattle Times.

Incredible abuses of power by the Internal Revenue Service have happened under both Republican and Democrat administrations. It doesn't seem to matter which party controls Congress, either.

When you are accused of wrongdoing by the IRS, it's up to you to prove your innocence. That isn't how our system of justice works, but it's standard operating procedure under statutes that govern the IRS.

What do you think? Can the IRS be reformed? Should it be abolished entirely?

Americans have no idea how USA was founded

A recent national survey commissioned by The American Revolution Center revealed an alarming lack of knowledge of our nation's founding history. An astonishing 83 percent of American adults failed the test.

Among results that reveal the depth of ignorance among our fellow citizens:

You can download a copy of the survey report here. And remember to teach your children and grandchildren American history. Government-run schools obviously do not.

Fight to win, or bring them home now

President Barack Hussein Obama was elected a year ago with the nation engaged in a two-front war on terror. The new Commander in Chief promptly nixed the term "war on terror," preferring bizarre euphamisms like "man-caused disaster."

Obama has now announced his determination to get out of Afghanistan, win, lose or draw. Oh, he'll send a few troops in to make it look like a fight. But make no mistake, he wants out.

Obama, ever the callow youth who just isn't up to leading the free world, still does not understand that the Taliban and Al Quaeda must be completely and continually vanquished. Unless we make a long-term commitment to keep the terrrists from doing so, they will continue to attack and kill us. Nor does Obama seem to care that leaving terrorists alive, relocating them to US soil, conferring Consitutional rights that belong only to US citizens upon them, and trying them in civilian courts all add up to more trouble for the US in the future.

The Washington Times recently published some of the new Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Afghanistan, following interviews with US military personnel. Among the assinine, we-don't-care-if-we-win-or-not rules our brave troops must obey:
  • no night or surprise searches
  • villagers must be warned prior to searches
  • Afghan police or military must accompany US units on any search
  • US soldiers may not fire at the enemy unless the enemy is preparing to fire first
  • US forces may not engage the enemy if civilians are present
  • only women may search women
  • troops may fire at an insurgent if they catch him in the act of placing an IED, but not if insurgents are walking away from an area where explosives have been laid
Osama bin Laden couldn't have crafted a more advantageous list. Our military is the finest in the world. But it will not be possible for any army to win a war against a ruthless, barbaric enemy with such ridiculous restrictions.

Better to bring the troops home now, rather than leave them to die in politically-correct handcuffs.

Chris Matthews: West Point is "enemy camp"

Chris Matthews, host of "Hardball" on MSNBC, made two telling remarks after President Barack Hussein Obama's December 1 Afghanistan speech.

First, he referred to West Point as "maybe the enemy camp." One one level, he was obviously pointing out the fact that our military personnel - including military academy cadets - are probably not big Obama supporters. West Point cadets and leaders were going to be a tough crowd for any Obama speech. But the fact that Matthews even uttered the words "enemy camp" to describe the US Military Academy is profoundly disturbing.

Second, he said that West Point was a "strange venue" to choose for this speech. If anything, Matthews is a politically astute man, with a long history of personal involvement in Democrat politics. So why would he call the US Military Academy a "strange venue" for the biggest military-related speech of a President's career? Here are some possibilities:
  • Like Obama himself, Matthews doesn't really understand that the President actually is the Commander in Chief.
  • Matthews doesn't understand that senior cadets graduating this spring will be sent to Afghanistan to represent the magnanimous Obama to misunderstood Muslim freedom fighters.
  • In Matthews' mind, the military is so unsupportive of Obama's policies that they are considered political enemies.
  • The President's military policies are so inept and vacuous that just delivering this speech at West Point was potentially embarrassing to Obama.
  • Perhaps Matthews knows, as we do, that Benedict Arnold once commanded West Point. Obama's presence there is eerily reminiscent of the narcissistic Revolutionary War General, who was revered by so many before attempting to destroy his fledgling country for personal gain.

It's becoming clearer every day that people who think like Matthews are not just the loyal-to-America political opposition.
