Police raid little girls' lemonade stand

Yes, you read that headline correctly. The wise city leaders of Midway, Georgia, have decided that their sheep - errr, citizens may be in mortal danger from lemonade.

Who knows what horrible, poisonous contaminants may have found their way into the highly suspect, potentially lethal, amateur mixture of lemon juice, sugar and water? Thank goodness elected officials are so magnanimous as to protect innocent people from the likely harmful effects of rogue, underground commerce:

Perhaps the 1,100 citizens of Midway should invite their brainy city leaders to reconsider this law. It sounds like it might be more appropriate for licensing street vendors in Manhattan.

Ironically, Midway is located in Liberty County, Georgia.

  1. People better not get all up in arms about this, they could have SERIOUSLY hurt someone and it's the responsibility of the elected officials to prevent young terrorists (they could be!!) from maybe being able to poison innocents. Think about it, a great way to get casualties, after 9/11, America must be vigilant against ALL forms of criminal activity to be able to know where the terrorists are. Remember, if you're not with us, you're with the terrorists, and God Bless America!

  2. Thanks, anonymous. We never thought of this angle. The officials are just keeping us safe from terrorism here, so it's all good.

  5. Thanks for commenting, Anonymous. Yes, it sounds like they will need a department of lemonade stand inspection, and a staff of inspectors. Lunacy.
