Thomas Jefferson read the Koran - to understand his enemies. Our Founding Fathers would be astonished that this is now tolerated in the United States of America:
We're not big supporters of Terry Jones. If you listen to Jones' remarks in the clip above, there isn't a lot of substance with which to agree or disagree. But we are big supporters of his freedom of speech, which seems to be a rapidly-disappearing commodity today. (Ironically, the Dearborn, Mich. newspaper is called the Free Press.)
Our support for freedom of speech also apparently makes us enemies of Islam. Muslim protests like those shown above are the norm in the Islamic world. Sharia law does not permit freedom of expression or association, as our Constitution guarantees.
Sharia law is completely incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. Dearborn, Michigan, may be a sign of things to come, unless the evils of Islamic sharia law are soon neutered in this country.
